27/4 2011; It could happen to you

Back from Cook Islands.
It was awesome.

In summary: dogs, coconuts, clear water, sun, rain, mice, spider, new contacts, sand of sea shell, scooters, bikes, hitch-hike, pricy, sunset, sunrise, pasta, rum & coke, fishes & amazing memories.

We departed from Auckland airport friday around 6:30 pm; arrived to Cook Islands around 12 am (the day before; thursday). They are 22 hours behind New Zealand time; funny how it can change when the flight was only 3,5-4 hours long.
We were greated with very high humidity and a older man playing island music on a small guitarr while singing. Pretty welcoming I must say.

two days were filled with rain while the remaining days were sunny with parts of clouds tripping by. The water is really amazing at some places, you can see fishes everywhere. I've never swam in such clear water in my life, so it sure was a new experience for me seeing all those fishes around me.

We did our theory lessons and pool dives for our PADI (scuba diving certificate); but the day we were supposed to dive in the actual sea - it rained like crazy. The remaining days were very rough aswell (on the water) so no scuba diving in the ocean for us :/ we'll have to take our remaining PADI lessons somewhere else, I'm thinking of taking them here on New Zealand. Surely they must have some awesome places to go dive at here.

If you ever consider travelling to any of the pacific Islands; make sure you live on a resort with included meals. The stores ripps tourists of money; it's very expensive. They don't have everything either; it's a small island and they get deliveries once a week (I think). You want to enjoy your stay there; it's a paradise island, come on.. You don't want to end up driving around the island to find cheap food to make your own meals. Also, I think Fiji would be a better choice to visit. Not saying Cook Islands is bad - it's amazing - but apparently Fiji seem to be nicer overall (maybe it comes with the pricetag aswell).

Here're some pics:

Need I say I got 49/50 on my Human Anatomy & Physiology exam (HAP) and an A in another hand in assignment in Knowledge, Enquiry & Communication. It is easy for a swede to underestimate himself. Do not ever think you're less smart than anyone else; it's what you make out of it that counts. Study hard but enjoy your life, it's the only one you've got.
