2/8 2011; Winter & weather?
It's 10:41 am here and the sun is going strong. New Zealand weather, especially in Auckland, is very unpredictable. during mid-winter a regular day often contain all the seasons of a year (autumn, winter, spring, summer). It literally can go from sunshine & no clouds to crazy rain within 10 minutes. And the winds are really strong as well. But today the weather looks promising. So on with my shorts & sunglasses! You might think that I am the biggest bore writing about the weather. It is a topic that is often used to kill an embarasing silence during, for example, a first date. But why would that be such a bad thing? Many of us are dependent on the weather. Last winter in Sweden (South) was really depressing, honestly. We had one of the longest winters ever, from October till April.. But yeah, the weather really do affect our personality & behaviour towards others in our surrounding. I dont understand what makes people think it's okay to take public transport while coughing and snoring, forcing your bacteria on to everyone in your surrounding. I think I was born in the wrong country, when it comes to weather. I always gets cold really easy and dream about getting away, lying on the beach just chillin'.
Going to Sweden in the middle of winter can, as mentioned, be pretty depressing to be honest. It's only nice in December, when Christmas is on. It is often minus degrees during New Years which makes it unbearable to be outside for longer than 20 minutes. And the line to get in to the clubs, meh.. You stand there freezing your toes off just to get ripped off 20 NZD (120 SEK) + drinks. Nah, I don't miss those parts. However, I do miss travelling up north for a couple of days cross skiing. Or making chocolate topped marsipan (?) for Christmas. Yumyum.
So yeah, the sun is shining even though this is supposed to be winter in New Zealand and I'm off to the veggie store to get groceries for tonight's tacco meal.
Anyway, whats on the agenda for today:
x Get veggies
x Go to uni & study
x Make tacco
x Study
Not very interesting, ey? But atleast I got the weather with me :)
