27/4 2011; It could happen to you

Back from Cook Islands.
It was awesome.

In summary: dogs, coconuts, clear water, sun, rain, mice, spider, new contacts, sand of sea shell, scooters, bikes, hitch-hike, pricy, sunset, sunrise, pasta, rum & coke, fishes & amazing memories.

We departed from Auckland airport friday around 6:30 pm; arrived to Cook Islands around 12 am (the day before; thursday). They are 22 hours behind New Zealand time; funny how it can change when the flight was only 3,5-4 hours long.
We were greated with very high humidity and a older man playing island music on a small guitarr while singing. Pretty welcoming I must say.

two days were filled with rain while the remaining days were sunny with parts of clouds tripping by. The water is really amazing at some places, you can see fishes everywhere. I've never swam in such clear water in my life, so it sure was a new experience for me seeing all those fishes around me.

We did our theory lessons and pool dives for our PADI (scuba diving certificate); but the day we were supposed to dive in the actual sea - it rained like crazy. The remaining days were very rough aswell (on the water) so no scuba diving in the ocean for us :/ we'll have to take our remaining PADI lessons somewhere else, I'm thinking of taking them here on New Zealand. Surely they must have some awesome places to go dive at here.

If you ever consider travelling to any of the pacific Islands; make sure you live on a resort with included meals. The stores ripps tourists of money; it's very expensive. They don't have everything either; it's a small island and they get deliveries once a week (I think). You want to enjoy your stay there; it's a paradise island, come on.. You don't want to end up driving around the island to find cheap food to make your own meals. Also, I think Fiji would be a better choice to visit. Not saying Cook Islands is bad - it's amazing - but apparently Fiji seem to be nicer overall (maybe it comes with the pricetag aswell).

Here're some pics:

Need I say I got 49/50 on my Human Anatomy & Physiology exam (HAP) and an A in another hand in assignment in Knowledge, Enquiry & Communication. It is easy for a swede to underestimate himself. Do not ever think you're less smart than anyone else; it's what you make out of it that counts. Study hard but enjoy your life, it's the only one you've got.

15/4 2011; what?

Okey, so the time goes REALLY fast when you're down here. You've got all the lectures, tutorials and assessments to hand in. It goes so insanely fast and it's kind of hard to explaine for you guys at home how quickly the time actually goes by. Anyway, today I'm going to Cook Islands. I am exciiiited!

We'll take our PADI, snorkel, explore, see waterfalls and lots more. This will deffenitly be one of the biggest adventoures of my life so far. I don't regret for one second coming here; I love the environment, the people, the lecturers, the mentality.. everything!

Right now I'll need to pack some more cause we're leaving for the airport in approx 2 hours :)

sunblock check, camera (with battery) CHECK, shorts CHECK, sunglasses CHECK, cap CHECK, jogging shoes CHECK, jandals CHECK.. I'm loaded for some great adventures!

I'll take loooots of photos and will upload some on here!:)

over n' out

7/4 2011; egoboost?

Okey so I've done my first exam on the other side of the earth. It was based on seven chapters, covering different topics, in Human Anatomy & Physiology. I kind of felt like the test was veery easy... Is that a good thing? I did check all my answers a second, or even a third time, before I handed it in. All the answers I've gone back to check has been correct sooo .. I might just get a decent grade for this one! That would be a massive egoboost.. Guess I shouldn't get too cocky yet ;E

Anyway, we got our grades back from our "wiki" project; which is a team project in health & environment. There's three stages, or three assessments, that we need to complete - and we just got our grades from the first assessment (EP1). I got a 10/10 which is an A :) They check how much you've done individual aswell, so I guess they were satisfied with my performance.. Overall, my team is great (so far) and I think we will get high grades in the upcoming assessments aswell :) woop woop.

so.. Not to be cocky or anything but so far I've got:

Knowledge, Enquiry & Communication: A-
Health & Environment: A (might be an A+, they forgot to upload the file with their feedback to me)
Human Anatomy & Physiology: I have 100% passed, no doubt about it.. Who knows, B or A? thrillin'...
Human Development (Phsychology): No idea yet, we have an essay due after our break..

That's how it looks like right now, not so bad :) I hope to keep it up!

Right now The Edge is pumpin' from our speakers and everything feels good, except that my body feels like a cooked spaghetti and is very sore after my crashlanding/training from tuesday :P

Goin' to the supermarket now,

ONE WEEK TO COOK ISLANDS!!!!!!!

have it SWEET!

6/4 2011; New concept..

Calvin Harris - You used to hold me is flowing out of the laptop speakers; summarising the essence of the experience: 'these are the good times in your life, so put on a smile and it'll be alright".

My muscles are sore; a result after a length of flips ending in a crashlanding - a very uncomfortable position. The microwave is on, I can smell the pasta bolognese heating up. I'm looking at my massive book, we will become one in a few minutes after the bolognese has settled in my tiny stomach.
My muscles are sore.. I should put some ice on it. I dont have any icebag; what can I take? the green pees bag look good. I'll settle with that for now.
I need to put some tea on. My control centre is slow; everything feels like slowmotion. Just a few more hours, it can't be that bad?
The teawater is boiling, time to open the book. The lovely book, I've been longing to open this book.
The winds are getting strong; will I ever manage to hold my umbrella without breaking it? My control centre is slow; everything feels like slowmotion...
The pasta is done. There's no sound coming out of the speakers. It's time to save energy for better causes. It's time to start studying for the 7 chapter exam due tomorrow. I'm so longing to open this book. Just a few more hours...

1/4 2011; Thrilled as!

I just found a massive gymnastic hall that's around 10-15 minutes away from where I live. It offers both competitive gymnastics and "adult" gymnastics. The adult sessions ONLY cost 18 NZD (18 times 5 for the SEK) per session and it's 2 days a week / 2 hours per session. That is reaallly cheap:) so I get 10 sessions for around 500 SEK.. It's a drop in, so I'll just go there on tuesday to have some fun. Who knows, maybe they find me good enough to compete in one of the disciplines? :)

thrilled as!
