27/3 2011; Livin' it up

Hey,
Yesterday I got a reply to my accommodation add, it seems to be pretty good. For 20 dollar less (100 SEK) than I pay here per week - I get water, electricity, all channels from SKY TV in my room, unlimited access to internet, there's a pool & a spa. I will also be living with other "proffessionals". It's not that far away from uni, it's doable if I can fix a bike.. The only negative about it is that when it rains I'd be soaked.. If I dont get a busscard ofcourse. This will cost me 200 a week, which is 800 a month (4 000 SEK). I'll go and check the place out, updates will come!

Anyway, we've decided to cook our food together - so tonight we'll do mince filled Aubergines with cheese over them:) sweet as! I pretty much forced everyone to try it, since noone here seem to have eaten it before. I guess it's a euro thing? I must say, since I got here I have really been patriotic when it comes to Europe - not for Sweden. When I was in Europe (Sweden) I didn't really care how beautiful nature we possess in the EU, not untill I got here I realise how beautiful it is and how much I want to explore it. Although, this country is I N S A N E when it comes to nature, but right now I cant explore that fact hence I'm studying full time. Therefore it makes me very interested in exploring the wide variety of natures within Europe, definitly a goal of mine - to explore EU.

That's all for now,
Have a great weekend

25/3 2011; I just joined the i-gang!

zuep
I finally got my internet after having a phone conversation with microsoft for approximately one hour. F I N A L L Y!

Im not really sure what else there is to write. It's friday today & the weather is crap, therefore I'll have a movie night or something.. There's really not much interesting stuff going on in my life right now. All I do during the days is attend to lectures & tutorials, eat, shit, sleep, study & hang around with my flatmates.

There might be a possibility that I can apply for a permanent residence visa at the embassy, if it goes through I wont need to pay the international tuition fees - which are insanely high. If this option does not work, I'll stay here for a year and go back to Sweden to work (while applying to another uni somewhere within EU). Everything is open, but I really hope that I get the chance to stay here (by reducing the tuition fees per year). It's always hard to swap over to another school system when u've gotten used to one already, especially if it's for the second year in my program..

I'll see what happens.

By the way, it's only around 4 weeks till Cook Islands!:)

Hey,
Right now I'm sitting in the AUT library. Everyone else is taking their blood tests today. FOR FREE! Ofcourse I had to take mine before I got here, which cost me a couple of thousand swedish kr. Boring as! But whatever, I'm here aint I?

I just had my Human Anatomy & Physiology (HAP) tutorial and the outcome? I need to study more on the neuron chapter.

Tomorrow we're handing in our first official assesment; a short essay of 500 words. Yea, thats right.. only 500 words:) It's not really an essay tho, it's just an introduction to the APA referencing system they got here and to improve your skills in finding/using/critizise different resources that consist around us. For this we had to decide an enquiry question, mine is:
- what factors contributes to Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo?

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is a symptom that has a tendency to affect older people and what they experience is basicly their surrounding moving, they feel dizzy.

Otherwise... Time goes very fast, I've already been here for over 1 month... Weird to think about it..
I've set the ISS (International Student Support) in work to find me another university within Europe that provides the same physio program as Im in. So, I'm planning on staying here for a year (due to the high tuition fees in NZ).

In a couple of weeks its time for Cook Islands! That will be awesome:)

Class time now, adios amigos.

5/3 2011; Pardey n stuff

Tjoe,
Yesterday I experienced the nightlife down in Auckland city. At first it sucked, cause we didnt find any clubs. Then when we got to the harbor it all changed. So yeh, good music & nice bars:)

Today we're doing a game night with tacco etc. It'll be fun!

I'm still on my wireless internet, which sucks and costs money. Not much, but its not free. They installed our "cable internet" (which is free) yesterday but for some reason it doesnt work anymore. Noone can connect and if someone happens to get in its dead slow. Im getting really annoyed about it, it sucks not being able to connect to internet whenever it pleases you. I have to take my laptop out in the main kitchen to be able to get 2 bars on the wireless internet thingy. S U C K S !

Anyway, I'm going to Cook Islands for one week in April during our midbreak. That will be awesome! It was very cheap, just under 3000 swedish kr for flight (return ticket aswell) and accommodation ON the beach! AWESOME!

After that I've got 10 days or so to study so it's all good :) Perfect time to go visit cookislands aswell, they say the best months to visit are March and April. boom!

Thats it for now,
Have it awesome!

3/3 2011; Academic Writing?

Hey,
So at this very moment I'm sitting in one of the lecture theatres waiting for the tutor to arrive. She or he has not shown up yet (over 10 mins late).. I got another lecture at 11 AM, which is in approx an hour, so I will most likely not be able to stay for the whole academic writing lecture.

Nowadays I'm mostly studying or doing some random stuff, nothing interesting going on right now..
Hopefully we'll go find a new beach on saturday to set our minds on something else than our lecture books.

I skyped for the very first time with my parents this morning, that was nice:) It's been hard to time it and for me to get access to internet.

yeh well, looks like the tutor has "forgotten" about us, veeeeryyyy bad......
I'll just start adoebe photoshop to play with some photos while waiting..

1/3 2011; Internet?

Hey,
I've got two bars on my wireless right now so I can access IT through our kitchen. We still havent got our cable sorted out so wireless is the only option at this moment. It was supposed to be done monday this week but since the earthquake in Christchurch the technicians has been helping out with something down there.. Not really sure with what tho.

Basicly, I've started to study already to prepare myself for the upcoming lectures. I even feel anxious if Im not studying.. So I dont think there will be any problem whatsoever to burrie myself in studies, hopefully...

Tomorrow I'll study even harder, and might take another trip to the gym (which I did today). I'm sore already after jogging two days in a row, but it's kind of addictive. I guess it's "a way to get away" from the studies and focuse on other stuff, rest your brain abit :p

You should see my textbook in Human Anatomy and Physiology by the way. It is massive! Lots and lots of stuff to read. Owell, I sort of knew it before I got here that I would need to study alot. Hopefully it'll all go well.
